Barefoot Contessa Brownies Recipe

Barefoot Contessa Brownies have fantastic flavor, perfectly moist, and rich in chocolate. This is the recipe I have been using for brownies and my family loves these. You can store brownies in airtight container at room temperature for 2 days.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound unsalted butter
  • 1 pound + 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 6 ounces bitter chocolate
  • 6 extra-large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2-1/4 cups sugar
  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups chopped walnuts

How to make brownies

Preheat the oven at 350F. Butter and lightly flour 12×8 inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, melt butter, 1 pound chocolate chips, and bitter chocolate over simmering water. Remove the bowl from heat and let it cool slightly.

In a large bowl, stir together eggs, vanilla, coffee granules, and sugar. Mix warm chocolate mixture with egg mixture and let it cool to room temperature.

Sift together 1 cup of flour, salt, and baking powder. Add melted chocolate mixture. Toss 12 ounces chocolate chips and walnuts with ¼ cup flour and add them to the batter.

Pour the batter into baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes. Tap the baking dish to force the air to escape from the brownie dough and bake for another 15 minutes. Do not over bake.

Allow to cool and cut into pieces. Serve and enjoy!
