Alfredo Sauce without Heavy Cream

Alfredo sauce is easy to make with or without heavy cream. In this recipe, we have made the Alfredo sauce without heavy cream and have added flour to thicken the sauce and replaced heavy cream with milk. All of the ingredients we have used are easily available in everyone’s kitchen.

This recipe is cheesy, creamy and full of fresh flavors. You can use this sauce with pasta, pizza, and fettuccini Alfredo. Your kids will absolutely love this fantastic sauce. The taste and smell of parmesan cheese is divine, and it also thickens the sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard powder
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

How to make Alfredo sauce without heavy cream

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Then add in flour and continue whisking.

Gradually add milk and whisk to remove any flour lumps. Bring the sauce to a boil and then reduce the heat to low flame.

Add parmesan cheese, herbs, mustard powder, salt, and pepper and continue whisking until the sauce is smooth.

Serve the sauce immediately with pasta, pizza or fried chicken.

If you want to store the sauce for later use, let it cool completely and pour it into an airtight jar. Keep in the refrigerator and use it within 5 days.
