Bahamian Mac and Cheese Recipe

  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 pinches of salt

Method to make the Bahamian Mac and Cheese

  1. Fill a large-sized saucepan with water and add salt to it. Let the water boil. Once the water gets boiled, you must add your elbow macaroni into the boiled salted water.
  2. The macaroni will swell and will get softened to be used in the further recipe.
  3. Drain the water and put the elbow macaroni in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the macaroni back into the pot and pour some butter into the pot. Mix both of these ingredients with each other so that the macaroni starts to simmer in the butter.
  5. Bring the shredded cheese and add it to the cooking macaroni at medium heat. Keep some of the cheese aside.
  6. In the cooking cheese and macaroni mixture, you need to add the seasonings. Sprinkle the black pepper over the cheese-filled macaroni.
  7. Shower paprika over it and then add the habanero pepper. At the same time, you must add the diced onions and bell peppers to your macaroni.
  8. Once the cheese gets melted, you must add the eggs into the macaroni which was already blended in a separate bowl.
