  • 2 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp saffron milk
  • 2 tbsp cashew/ Kaju
  • 1/4 tbsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp crushed pistachio
  • Half cup of water

How to make a flavorful besan ka halwa?

  1. Take a heavy bottom pan and add a cup of ghee to it.
  2. When the ghee is melted, fry the gram flour in this ghee. Fry until it is slightly browned and an aroma starts attracting you.
  3. Continue frying for 10-15 minutes. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
  4. Be attentive while roasting the flour because the final color depends upon how much the flour is fried.
  5. Once this frying is done, add milk and half a cup of water in it. Mix well and saute until all the liquid is absorbed by the besan mixture.
  6. Keep in mind that the milk should be boiled and warm.
  7. Then it will have a custard-like appearance. It is time to add sugar. So, add sugar as well as cardamom powder and saffron milk. Whisk it well. Cook for 6-7 minutes at low flame. Your halwa will give a glossy look by now.
  8. Once done, sprinkle the crushed dry fruits including the cashew and pistachios over the top of this halwa when poured in the serving dish. Serve it hot.
