The soft chocolate cake, the simplest recipe , the best and the most delicious but above all the most loved by all children and since we have just returned to school, what better opportunity to use my super cake pan for the first time. It’s a tall and very soft chocolate cake.
This recipe comes from the famous Betty Crocker who prepared this dark chocolate cake for all of us! This is a soft and very easy chocolate cake to prepare I assure you and, unlike many other chocolate cake recipes, this is a dark chocolate cake and not a cocoa cake.
Obviously you can also prepare the chocolate cake with milk chocolate but I recommend you slightly reduce the sugar dose otherwise the chocolate cake would be a little too sweet.
Ingredients
1 box Betty Crocker Devil’s Food Cake
3 medium free range eggs
120 ml vegetable oil
230 ml water
Topping and Filling
1 ½ tubs Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Icing
100 g white chocolate bar
100 g dark chocolate bar
How to make chocolate fudge cake
Preheat your oven to 180°C. Grease two cake pans.
Mix eggs, oil, Devil’s Food Cake Mix and water together with hand or electric mixer until smooth.
Pour the cake mixture into prepared pans.
In preheated oven, bake for 22 to 27 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Once baked, remove from oven and let them cool on wire rack.
Ice one cake with half of the chocolate fudge icing and sandwich together with other cake. Spread the remaining icing on top as well as on sides of the cake. Make the sides even smoother by pressing the palette knife against the sides and put even pressure all the time while turning the cake.
Decorate with white and dark chocolate curls. Serve and enjoy!
