Betty Crocker Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

I love cheeses, literally. And when they are absolute protagonists of a recipe, just like in this case, I really struggle to resist!

Ingredients

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (7 ounces)

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 ounces)

¼ cup butter

¼ cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

¼ teaspoon ground mustard

¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 cups milk

Cooking method

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cook and drain the macaroni as the packet instructions.

Melt butter in a 3 quart saucepan over low heat. Add flour, salt, pepper, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Stir continuously and cook over medium low heat until smooth.

Remove from heat and add milk. Stir well. Then heat to boiling. Stirring continuously. Stir in  cheese and cook until cheese is melted.

Stir in cooked macaroni into cheese mixture.

Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into a 2 quart casserole. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until bubbly.

Remove from oven. Your delicious macaroni and cheese is ready!
