Cajun Smothered Chicken Recipe

Cajun-smothered chicken is the only sort of chicken I am obsessed with. The chicken is coated with seasonings and flour and then fried. The yummiest gravy is made by adding suitable vegetables and then a little flour is also added to make it yummy and thick.

The Cajun Smothered Chicken Recipe is not a time-consuming recipe and the gravy is so luscious in the chicken is simmered for the final flavor. All the veggies get softened and then are cooked with the chicken to take the flavor to the next level.

Frying the Coated Chicken

The flour-coated chicken is seared in heated butter for some time until it changes its color and gets a crispy layer at the top. This crispy layer of the chicken is my favorite thing about this chicken and I let it simmer for a longer period to get a good crisp.

Frying the vegetables

The vegetables like onions, fresh celery, and red bell pepper all are cooked together or you can say fried in butter in a non-stick cooking skillet. These softened vegetables are then simmered in the boiled chicken broth.

The broth is cooked to get the liquid dried and then you can add the rest of the ingredients to it. The vegetables make the gravy more healthy and a complete diet to be served as a formal dish.

Serving of the Cajun Smothered Chicken

The yummy Cajun smothered chicken which is crispy and simmered in a gravy of vegetables should be served alone as a complete dish on your dining table.

Then another way to serve the smothered chicken is to pair it up with flour tortillas or you can put it over the boiled kinds of rice to top the rice with the best side dish.
