The Chew Monkey Bread Recipe

The Chew Monkey bread is my favorite sweet for a better morning. It has a balanced level of sweetness and richness. The vanilla icing poured over it makes it look like straight coming from heaven.

Making the dough and then making balls out of it to give a perfect shape to your bread is the best part of this recipe. It has a perfect shape and a perfect taste to become one’s favorite dessert in the mornings, evenings, and even at midnight.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 egg yolk at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter,  melted
  • 3 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
  • 3.57 grams of vital wheat gluten
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 tablespoon active yeast
  • 3/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar

For Cinnamon Sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoon cinnamon

Vanilla Icing

  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons whole milk

Instructions to make the amazing Chew Monkey Bread

  1. Blend the yeast with milk using the electric blender and then after a break of a few minutes blend sugar in it.
  2. Add the eggs along with the egg yolks into it. Pour the melted butter. After a good blend sifts in flour and then sprinkle salt into it.
  3. After mixing you will get a dough-like texture. Knead the dough for 10 minutes on the floured shelf and then brush a little oil on the dough.
  4. Put the greased dough in a bowl. Cover the top of the bowl using plastic wrap. You can also use Kitchen Towels. Left it for 1-2 hours and it will rise in the meantime.
  5. In a saucepan pour the butter and simmer it until it changes color and starts getting brown. Once cooled, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Now slice and shape the dough into small balls of suitable size. Now one by one bring each ball, dip it in the cooked browned butter and then coat a layer of the cinnamon and sugar mixture over it.
  7. Let the oven get heated and in the meantime, you have to prepare a glaze to pour over your bread. Mix the browned butter with melted butter and then add vanilla and brown sugar in it.
  8. Assemble all the balls in the baking dish and pour the prepared glaze over it. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes.
  9. Cool and then take out in an inverting manner. They prepare the icing by blending the milk, vanilla, and sugar with each other.

If the bread gets brown too quickly, then you should cover it with foil from the top so that it will get lesser heat and get the complete cooking time. Otherwise, it will remain uncooked from the inside.
