  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (mix in 2 tablespoons of water)

How to make chicken teriyaki

Heat up the grill pan on high flame. Mix canola oil and chicken thighs in a bowl.

Place the chicken on the grill pan and cook on high for 3 to 5 minutes on each side.

Add sugar, lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, ground ginger, and water to a pot and bring to a boil on high heat.

Then lower the heat to medium-low. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Add cornstarch mixture to the sauce. Cook over low heat for a minute, until the sauce is thickened.
