Cupcakes are American sweets that look like muffins but are prepared differently by whipping butter with sugar. The icing of the cupcakes can be decorated with chocolate sprinkles, can be colored, the only limit is your imagination. Their name derives from the size of the cake, as big as a cup, that is, a cup, and can be accompanied by a cup of tea.

- 120 g butter
- 150 g white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 200 g flour
- 60 ml milk

- 25 ml milk

How to make cupcakes
First of all mix the butter and sugar until you get a creamy consistency. In a large bowl, sift the flour and add the baking powder, a pinch of salt, vanilla and the lemon peel. Add the eggs one by one until you get a smooth and homogeneous cream.
Add the flour mixture and the milk until you get the right consistency. Pour the mixture into the molds. Filling them up to 3/4 and cook in the oven for about 20 minutes.
Start preparing the buttercream by sifting the icing sugar.
Mix the butter until it is completely softened. Add the vanilla and lemon peel. Lower the speed to the minimum and gradually incorporate the icing sugar first and then the milk, until you get a smooth cream.
Pour the cream obtained into a pastry bag and decorate your cupcakes as you prefer.
