Egg Drop Soup Recipe

The classic Egg Drop Chinese soup has been made at my place for years now. It is healthy and nutritious and also not too spicy so people of every age can have it with joy.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 chopped scallion
  • 3 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 1/8 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 medium-sized eggs
  • 1/2 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1/8 tablespoon white pepper

Method to make delicious Egg Drop Soup

  1. You need a soup pot to make this egg soup. In that soup pot, pour the chicken stock and bring it to a boil. Let simmer after boiling.
  2. In the simmered stock, pour a little sesame oil and then sprinkle salt into it.
  3. Add some sugar and then add white pepper to it. Sprinkle the turmeric into it. You also need to add some food coloring for a good color of the sauce.
  4. Use yellow food coloring for this purpose. This step is optional and completely depends on your own choice.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water and make a paste. Add this paste to the cornstarch. Stir well to get it absorbed in the soup and allow to simmer.
  6. Break the eggs in the bowl and blend them on low speed to have the combined existence of the yellow and the white part of the egg.
  7. Then stir the soup in round motions and add the blended eggs into it side by side.
  8. Cook for some time and then pour into the serving bowls. Before serving dress your soup with the scallions to make it worth serving.
