Fried Green tomatoes are like tomato cutlets served as a side or as a snack. The tomatoes are coated with a number of layers like bread crumbs, flour, egg, and milk batter and all of them make the Fried green tomatoes crispy from the outside and softer from the inside.

INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 4 large green tomatoes
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs at room temperature
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1-quart vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoon coarse Kosher salt
- 1/4 tablespoon black pepper
Method to make the Fried Green Tomatoes
- First of all to get yourself prepared, dice the tomatoes. Dice them nicely and thinly.
- Take a small-sized mixing bowl and break eggs in it. Pour some milk into it and whisk well.
- Take a dish full of flour. Add some cornmeal into another bowl. Stir and then add bread crumbs into it.
- To season up this mixture, sprinkle salt into the mixture. Then add pepper to it.
- Bring your diced tomatoes and coat them with flour. Once coated well, put these tomatoes into the milk batter. The milk and egg mixture are very good to coat and soak the tomatoes.
- Once soaked enough, then coat a final layer of bread crumbs over them.
- Bring a large-sized cooking pot, and heat up some vegetable oil in it. Put your marinated tomatoes in the heated bowl and start frying.
- You can divide the tomatoes into half to fry them one by one.
- You need browned tomatoes and once done, drain them to serve as a side.
- These fried green tomatoes are perfect to serve as a salad or a side dish with your rice.
