Hayderabadi Mutton Masala Recipe

Hyderabad is a city well known for its food. Hyderabadi biryani and mutton masala are famous recipes. People of Hyderabad love to eat spicy meals and they are crazy about their food.

This mutton masala recipe is purely made from meat that is full of nutrition. Fresh meat when cooked in spices gets tastier and tender. We should buy meat very carefully. Just make sure that the meat is freshly chopped in size according to your choice.

Mutton masala enhances the flavor of your dinner with its mind-blowing aroma that makes you more hungry. All the spices play an equal role in cooking but onions and tomatoes are the main ingredients along with yogurt. Serve them with hot chapattis, with butter Nan or with boil basmati rice.

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1Kg mutton washed
  • 4 tablespoon vegetable oil.
  • 3 medium-sized onions sliced well.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste.
  • 3 tomatoes chopped well.
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder.
  • 1 ½ red chili powder.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder.
  • 1 tablespoon mutton masala.
  • 1 cup yogurt.
  • Coriander leaves are finely chopped.

METHOD TO PREPARE MUTTON MASALA

  1. First of all, take a pressure cooker and pressure mutton for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Reduce pressure.
  2. Squeeze some oil from your oil container in a heated frying pan.
  3. Make the onions to get golden browned in color while roasting them in this oil.
  4. Let them cool. Grind them and make an onion paste.
  5. Add onion paste in heated vegetable oil.
  6. Saute after adding ginger, garlic, and finely chopped tomatoes.
  7. Mix and then add all spices which include salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and mutton masala.
  8. Add beaten yogurt to it.
  9. Then add little water after adding mutton to it.
  10. Cook for five minutes until the meat is perfectly cooked and oil appears on the sides. Make sure all the extra moisture is evaporated.
  11. Garnish the mutton masala with chopped coriander leaves sliced garlic and finely chopped red chilies on the top. You can also shower some ginger if you like. As the topping of every dish depends on one’s choice.
  12. Serve hot with chapattis and rice.

Can we use the same recipe for chicken?

YES, we can surely use the same masala recipe for chicken but for this, we have to add the chicken masala powder and chicken is easy to cook therefore it takes less time for cooking and we don’t need to give pressure to chicken in cooker.
