Baked potatoes, with either single bake or “double bake,” make a great side to almost any meal. In fact, baked potatoes can be a dish on their own. When you make too many baked potatoes, it’s easy to reheat them so you can eat them later.
Oven
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 F (176.6 C)
Step 2
Place the baked potatoes, unwrapped, in foil or plastic wrap, on a baking sheet. You don’t need to grease the pan, but if your potatoes have some kind of seasoning on them, like cheese, you may want to spray the baking sheet with oil spray or cover it with aluminum foil or wax. If your potatoes are whole and uncut, heat them directly on the oven rack.
Step 3
Put the potatoes in the preheated oven and leave them there for about 20 minutes. Baked potatoes that have been frozen will take longer. Potatoes should be warmer than 140 F (60 C) when removed from the oven to make sure they are bacteria-free, according to the King County Department of Public Health.
Microwave oven
Step 1
To save time, reheat the potatoes in the microwave.
Step 2
Place the potatoes on a plate and heat them at high heat for several minutes.
Step 3
Check the internal temperature of the potatoes with a kitchen thermometer before eating them. Make sure the temperature is at least 140 degrees F (60 degrees C).
