Lime Pickles Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar

Method to make the Lime Pickles Recipe

  1. Bring the limes and start slicing them in halves. Put the sliced limes in a bowl of a suitable size.
  2. Then bring the salt and shower it over the sliced limes in the bowl. You should let stand then limes in the bowl for 1-2 days at least while the bowl is covered from the top.
  3. You need a suitable-sized saucepan in the next step. Take hold of a non-stick saucepan and then pour some oil into it. Let the oil get heated to medium flame.
  4. Now once the oil is really well heated you must make the addition of the mustard seeds into it and stir-fry them for a few seconds.
  5. The seeds will start popping in minutes and then you have to proceed further and add the remaining ingredients.
  6. Bring the chopped ginger and add it to the cooking sauce. Add the garlic at the same time. Sprinkle in some of the cumin and spread some coriander on top of it.
  7. Whisk well for a good combination of every ingredient.
  8. Bring the chili powder and finally add it to the saucepan. After adding all the spices, you must add the lime mixture which has a very long stay time.
  9. Pour water into this mixture and also add sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar in it and then pour some vinegar in it. Wait until the whole mixture is boiled.
  10. Your mixture will be aromatic in some time. Wait for it to obtain a thick texture.
  11. Bring some sterilized jars and transfer the mixture to these jars after stirring.
  12. Keep airtight and let stay as it is for at least a week so that the lime pickle will completely get its flavor and gets the required texture.
