Mutton masala or mutton gravy is a great dish that is most commonly made at South Indian weddings and festivities. It is made in every household on some grand occasion and is always part of our menu. As the buffet is incomplete without the presence of mutton masala in it.

You don’t need to arrange a proper setup or something to prepare this mutton gravy. You can simply prepare it at your place like all the rest of the dishes. You can half or double the number of ingredients depending upon the number of people you have to serve. Serve it hot and don’t forget to garnish at the top before serving.

  • 800-gram mutton (cut into pieces)
  • 3 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
  • 4 dried red chilies
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 cup canned tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 2 medium potatoes cut into cubes
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

For garnishing

  • Thinly sliced strips of ginger
  • A few springs of fresh coriander leaves
  • Fresh coriander leaves

Steps to prepare delicious Mutton Masala

  1. You need to bring a nonstick pressure cooker.
  2. Chop the onions roughly. Then add the onions, tomato puree, coriander seeds, chili powder, and coriander powder. Moreover, salt is also added.
