Old El Paso Chili Recipe

Old El Paso Chili is a slow-cooked chicken chili in a slow cooker and this slow cooking is the secret to the outstanding flavor of the chili. Old El Paso Chili is made again and again at family gatherings at my place to get all the elders satisfied and full of praises.

Old El Paso is a Texan recipe and is completely mind-blowing as easier to make, longer to cook, and absolutely delicious when indulged. Serve it in your Dinners when all the old ones of the Family are in the same period.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chiles
  • 1 lb grounded beef
  • 1 can drain kidney beans
  • Fresh cilantro sprigs
  • 1/2 cup Old El Paso Chunky salsa
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 can of spicy chili beans
  • Fresh Cilantro Springs
  • Fresh avocados, chopped
  • 1 package less sodium taco seasoning
  • Multigrain tortilla chips

Method to make the Old el Paso Chili Recipe

  1. Bring your slow cooker to get your chili prepared in this slow cooker. Use the cooking spray to get the cooker ready for simmering.
  2. Then bring your cleaned chicken into the prepared cooker.
  3. Then add the diced onions to the chicken. Bring the chili beans and transfer them into the onion and chicken mixture.
  4. Stir well using a spatula.
  5. Then to make the mixture packed with more ingredients, corn into it. Add the diced tomatoes and then add the black beans into the mixture.
  6. To season up this mixture, use taco seasoning. Mix well. Cover the cooker from the top and start cooking at low flame.
  7. The slow cooker will take a longer period to get the chili cooked. Keep the heat medium and cook for 5 hours straight.
  8. Spread the diced avocados and also sprinkle the cilantro over the top. Use the tortilla chips to serve with the chili.

Can’t we use salt and pepper for the chili?

Yes, you can add salt but usually, salt and pepper are avoided to be added in the Old el Paso Chili. These will change the actual flavor of the chili. Only Taco seasoning will give it an actual flavor.

Can’t we reduce the cooking period?

Reduce the period according to your flame. If you are cooking on low flame then chili will require a longer period to get done or if the flame is high cooking time will be reduced.
