Patta Gobhi Manchurian Recipe

Patta Gobhi Manchurian is made by making vegetable balls out of carrots, bell peppers, and then shredded cabbage. These balls are then fried and after that, you have to make a sauce in which these balls are simmered. Manchurian will be delicious only when your sauce is thick enough.

  • 3 cups diced carrot
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup Green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups grated cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon red chili sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped ginger
  • 2-inch chopped garlic
  • 3-4 corn flour
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons green chili

Method to make Patta Gobbi Manchurian

Take a clean glass bowl in which you further have to prepare the mixture. Add the shredded cabbage to the glass bowl.

Bring the salt and sprinkle it on the shredded cabbage lying inside the bowl. Mix the cabbage. Then add the sliced bell peppers and the diced carrot into this bowl. Stir the mixture really well.

Bring the cornflour and add it to the veggie mixture. Also, sprinkle black pepper on it. Add the red chili flakes which are then followed by the addition of all-purpose flour. Stir well to combine.

Make small-sized balls out of this mixture using your clean hands. Rub a little bit of oil in your hands to avoid sticking the material.

Heat oil in a wok at medium flame and put the veggie balls into the oil. Fry them in the oil. Take out when slightly golden browned.

Hen to make the sauce heat oil in the pan and add minced garlic and ginger into the pan. Add green chilies and then add onion to it. Add the leftover green bell pepper.

Then start adding the sauces and spices to it including the ketchup, the soy sauce, and the red chili sauce. Add black pepper and let simmer for some time.

Make a slurry with corn flour and water and add this slurry to this cooking mixture. Pour some water into the mixture. Simmer and let the mixture thicken. Bring the fried veggie balls and add them to the simmering sauce. Once thickened, let it air cool.

Serve your Patta Gobbi Manchurian alongside your fried rice.
