Pepito Sandwich Recipe

Pepito Sandwiches are the most adorable Mexican appetizers which are easier to prepare but are so worth it to serve. To make a change in the routine of serving the wraps and rolls, you should try serving the beef and cheese stuffed Sandwiches. Pepito Sandwiches are the best because these are not considered light meal but fills your stomach.

Making my favorite Pepito Sandwiches at ordinary times is my favorite hobby and feels like therapy to me. You can replace the beef with chicken as per choice but beef adds a classy flavor to the Pepito Sandwiches.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2-4 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 lb Ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 Hoagie Rolls, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons softened unsalted butter
  • 1 pressed garlic clove
  • 1 diced sweet onion
  • 8 slices Provolone cheese
  • 1/2 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper

Method to make the Pepito Sandwich

Step 1:

Bring the Hoagie rolls and slice them using a sharp knife.

Step 2:

Then bring the onions and dice them. Also, slice the beef at the same time.

Step 3:

Take a small-sized bowl and add the melted butter to it. Add the crushed garlic to it.

Step 4:

Brush the sliced rolls with the garlic and butter spread.

Step 5:

Fry the roll buns on the stovetop until they are golden brown.

Step 6:

Bring the cooking pan and pour oil into it. Add the diced onions and stir fry these onions until softened.

Step 7:

Add more oil and then add the steak into the heated oil. Sprinkle the seasonings and fry until browned.

Step 8:

Then you have to cut the steak into four portions to fill up the sandwich. Add cheese so that the cheese can melt.

Step 9:

Now bring the rolls spread mayo over them, and fill the steak and cheese mixture over it. Cover the top with the other half.

Step 10:

Serve your Sandwich with delicious dips.

FAQs?

Can we bake the steak instead of frying it?

Yes sure you can bake the steak rather than frying as this is a more convenient and easy way but frying gives a crispy flavor as well as good color to your steak.

Do we use ketchup as a spread in this recipe?

Ketchup is usually avoided in this recipe to keep the flavor minimal but you have to add mayo instead to get the creamy touch in the sandwich.
