Publix Key Lime Pie is one of the oldest recipes for pies as the Publix Bakery has been serving this wonderful Key lime pie since 1957. They are still using the original recipe for Key lime pie, that’s amazing. Publix Key lime pie has won an award at American Pie Council.
Key lime pie is typically made of Key lime juice and sweetened condensed milk inside of a graham crackers crust. Key limes can be found throughout the Florida Keys. These limes have more aromatic and yellow juice.
The real whipped cream is used to decorate the edges of the pie. The toasted almonds give a really nice crunch to this sweet pie. We are not making this recipe custard-based, which means no eggs and no baking.
Just whisk the condensed milk and Key lime juice, pour over the crust and chill in the refrigerator until firm. This recipe is perfect for hot summer months and you do not have to spend time in front of the oven.
The preparations take just 10 to 15 minutes, but you have to keep this pie for several hours in the refrigerator. You can make it a day before a get-together with friends and family.
