Sara Lee Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

This homemade cinnamon roll recipe is best for breakfast. We are using basic ingredients that are a minimum requirement for cinnamon rolls. Everything you can prepare at home from filling to icing but we are using the store-bought dough for time-saving.

Preparing filling takes just a few minutes and you can prepare the icing while the cinnamon rolls are baking. Enjoy these delicious cinnamon rolls for breakfast or anytime you like.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen white bread dough
  • Flour, for dusting surface

Filling:

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 stick butter, softened

Icing:

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to make cinnamon rolls

Preheat oven to 400F. Thaw the frozen dough in the refrigerator.

Lightly flour the surface. Roll out dough to form a 15×7 inch rectangle. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Spread 2/3 cup butter on the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon mixture evenly.

Roll up the dough, start from the longer side and cut the roll into 16 slices and place in a warm room to let the dough rise for 1 hour.

Place rolls on two buttered baking dishes. Bake for 15 minutes.

Combine all the icing ingredients in the mixer and mix until fluffy. Spread icing on warm rolls and serve.
