Sara Lee Coffee Cake Recipe

This coffee cake is super delicious with its buttery and cinnamon flavor. I get so many compliments whenever I make this cake. I am using cake mix and instant vanilla pudding that you can buy from the market easily. The rest of the ingredients for this recipe are simple and already available in your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 box small size instant vanilla pudding
  • 3/4 c vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp butter extract
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon

Glaze

  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp hot milk
  • 1/2 tsp butter extract
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

How to make coffee cake

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9×13 inch pan.

Beat eggs, cake mix, pudding, water, and oil for 6-8 minutes at medium speed. Add butter extract and vanilla.

Spread ½ of batter into the baking pan. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half of this mixture over batter. Then spread the remaining ½ of batter and sprinkle the remaining half of sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Swirl through the batter with a knife. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

For glaze: mix hot milk, powdered sugar, butter and vanilla extract.

Let the cake cool down completely. Spread the glaze over it. Slice and serve.
