Ingredients
- 6 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurts
- 2 3/4 cups warm water
- 1 1/4 tbsp instant yeast, or active dry yeast
- 1 heaping tbsp vital wheat gluten
- 1 tbsp salt
How to make honey wheat bread
Add 4.5 cups of wheat flour and yeast in the mixing bowl. Stir to combine.
Add warm water, mix and cover. Let it rise for 15 minutes.
Add melted butter, Greek yogurt, honey, vital wheat gluten, salt, and mix well.
Now add the remaining 1 ½ cups of wheat flour and mix until the dough starts to pull off the sides of the bowl. Knead the dough with the mixer for 5 minutes.
Spray two 9×5 inch loaf pan with nonstick spray.
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll them on the counter and make logs of about 9 inches. Place them in the prepared baking pans. Spray the plastic wrap and cover the pans. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
Place the pans on the middle rack. Turn on the oven to 350F. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
Remove the pans from oven and let them cool before removing from pans. Slice the bread and serve.
