Betty Crocker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Deep-fried chicken and vegetable rolls have become old-school recipes. They contain a lot of oil which makes them a bit unhealthy. But these cabbage rolls are full of nutrition as they are made with beef and then stuffed in the cabbage leaves.

The rolls are not fried more than oil. Instead, these are baked in the oven with drizzled sauce and cheese. The rolls are delicious, juicy enough, and tender to eat and you become a fan even on the very first bite.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 tablespoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 medium-sized eggs
  • 1 lb lean grounded beef
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 1/4 tablespoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 cup uncooked regular long-grain white rice

Steps to make Betty Crocker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

  1. Spray the baking dish using a cooking spray and heat the oven at an exact suitable temperature which should be 375 degrees.
  2. Heat some water in a skillet and then add rice to this heated water. Once the rice gets boiled and dare tenderized, turn off the heat.
  3. In the oven cook the cabbage in boiling water, for a few minutes and wait for the leaves to get tender. Remove the leaves.
  4. Break and beat the eggs in a container. In a bowl put the beef and add onion and boiled rice into it. To season the beef, use salt and oregano. Also, use a little quantity of pepper.
  5. Drizzle the beaten eggs over the mixture. Stir well.
  6. To make the roll, spread the cabbage leaf and stuff it with 3 tablespoons of beef mixture. Roll the leaf and seal or tuck in the ends to cover the mixture and prevent it from getting out of it.
  7. Repeat the process for all the cabbage leaves. Now, put the prepared rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  8. Bring the tomato sauce and drizzle over the rolls in the baking pan.
  9. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the rolls on the whole pan.
  10. Cover the top of the pan using a foil sheet and then bake in the oven for an hour. Rolls will be bubbly and your cheese and beef will be completely cooked.

Yes, you can use already cooked beef for the cabbage rolls. Precook the beef then marinate it and stuff it in the cabbage rolls. After baking your rolls will be yummier.

Can we replace the beef with chicken?
