Today, I am going to make my personal favorite dessert recipe that is blackberry cobbler by Trisha Yearwood. It’s delicious and easy to make recipe. Follow the instructions to achieve perfect results.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces blackberries
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 3⁄4 cup sugar
  • 2⁄3 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon self-rising flour
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

How to make blackberry cobbler

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Prepare 8 inch square baking dish by greasing it thoroughly.

In a medium saucepan, add sugar, 1 tablespoon of self-rising flour, berries and 1 cup of water. Bring the mixture to a boil. Then lower the heat, simmer for 2 minutes and then remove from heat.

In a medium bowl, add butter and 2 cup flour and rub them well. Stir in milk to make soft dough.

Put the dough on a lightly floured rolling board. Pat it and roll into 8 inch square, then cut into 6 long strips.

Add 1 cup of blackberry mixture into the baking dish. Arrange 3 strips of dough an equal distance apart over the mixture.

Bake for 12 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and pour the remaining mixture of blackberries over baked strips. Arrange the remaining 3 strips perpendicular to the first layer and bake for another 12 minutes.

Remove from oven. Let it cool completely and serve with vanilla ice cream.
