Tupelo Honey Biscuit Recipe

Honey biscuits with a fluffy layer in the middle and crunchy crust are the most delicious biscuits I have ever had. The recipe for these biscuits is taken from the recipe book of Tupelo Honey Cafe but it needed some amendments as it does not contain milk and included bread flour.

In this recipe, we use all-purpose flour because it is better for making cookies. While baking biscuits people are usually worried if they get hard in the middle but these biscuits have a smooth soft texture and are so tender that anyone can enjoy them with full ease.

The making of these biscuits is a fun process because we need to do very little works on its dough. The vibrant golden color of these biscuits is itself an attraction.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 cup cold buttermilk
  • Melted butter
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup cold milk

How to prepare Tupelo honey biscuit

  1. Fill a bowl with all-purpose flour and add 1 tbsp of baking powder in it, that is our prime agent. Add two tablespoons of salt that will enhance the flavor.
  2. Take cold butter out of your fridge and put cubes of this cold butter in the bowl. Mash the butter cubes in the flour until it has a bread crumbs-like texture.
  3. Grab your cold milk and pour it into the blend. It will give a wet dough. This moistened dough is perfect for your honey biscuits.
  4. Take your baking sheet and turn it into the shape of cookies and refrigerate them for some time.
  5. Now, bake them up for 20 minutes in the oven by topping them with a mixture of honey and butter, and yeah your biscuits are ready. Top them again with the blend after baking.

Now present your super tasty biscuits to your family and especially to the children.
