Tzatziki Salad Dressing Recipe

Tzatziki Salad Dressing is a Greek Side dish served with all the yummy snacks and has great importance in Greek Cuisine. From Greek cuisine, I learned that I can serve this popular sauce with bread, with appetizers, and even with grilled chicken or vegetables. Whenever I make grilled chicken or vegetables, I love to serve this sauce with it.

When for the first time in my life, I made this Tzatziki Salad dressing, I made it for my formal guests. They loved it so much that I added the recipe to my cookbook and I make it now and then. The Tzatziki salad dressing is super classy to serve alongside your platter.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/8 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 1/3 cup chopped dill
  • 1/2 English cucumber
  • 16 oz Cold Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Method to make the Tzatziki Salad Dressing

Step 1:

Dice the cucumber after peeling.

Step 2:

Put the diced or shredded cucumbers in a bowl and sprinkle salt on it. You can also use a cloth for this purpose. The cucumber will release water in some time.

Step 3:

You should stir the cucumbers if needed.

Step 4:

Then for making the sauce, add the Yogurt to a large-sized bowl. Pour lemon juice in it and also add the crushed garlic cloves.

Step 5:

You should add chopped dill to it along with the salt and pepper. Pour olive oil into it.

Step 6:

Bring a cloth, cover the cucumber in it, and squeeze it to rinse all the juice from the cucumber.

Step 7:

Add the cucumber to the mixing bowl and waste the juices.

Step 8:

Use a spatula to mix everything well. Add more salt and pepper if needed.

Step 9:

Put in the refrigerator while covered from the top. Drizzle some olive oil at the top before serving.

FAQs?

What is the substitute for lemon juice in this recipe?

You can replace the lemon juice with simple vinegar or white vinegar. Use the required quantity and increase if needed. But lemon juice is the best.

Why don’t we add mint to this sauce?

The addition of mint should be adopted in this recipe as mint gives a refreshing flavor to every dish it is added. You can either add fresh or dried mint.
