Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups whole milk
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
How to make vanilla pudding
In a saucepan, add milk, egg yolks, salt, sugar and cornstarch and whisk all together. Cook for 7 to 8 minutes over medium heat until it starts making bubbles. Continue cooking for few minutes, whisk occasionally.
Once the desired consistency and thickness is achieved, remove from heat. Then add butter and vanilla extract and mix them well.
Pour the pudding mixture into bowls and let the pudding cool down. After that, wrap the bowls with plastic wrapper or aluminum foil and keep them in the refrigerator for few hours until chilled.
