Veg Club Sandwich Recipe | Indian Style

The veg club sandwiches are famous and commonly available at restaurants and cafes. The club sandwich is usually made with three bread layers stuffed with vegetables and mayonnaise filling. These sandwiches are healthy and delicious and can be ready in just 10 minutes.

The traditional club sandwich contains meat (chicken, turkey, etc.), but this recipe is a veggie version of the club sandwich made with vegetables like cabbage, tomato, carrot, capsicum, onion, and cucumber for those who do not consume meat.

You can use any type of bread for club sandwiches such as brown bread, white bread, whole wheat bread, or multigrain bread. Grill or toast the slices to give them a crunchy texture. You can use cheese spread instead of mayo.

Enjoy the healthy veg club sandwich in breakfast or any time as a snack.

Ingredients

For Filling

  • 2 cups cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup capsicum sliced
  • 1 cup carrot shredded
  • 4 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For sandwich

  • 3 slices white bread
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 cucumber sliced
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • Shredded cabbage as required
  • 1 tbsp. mayonnaise

How to make veg club sandwich

In a bowl, combine cabbage, capsicum, carrot, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Mix all the ingredients well and set aside for filling.

Cut the brown sides of bread slices with a sharp knife.

Grill the bread slices in a sandwich griller until brown. If you do not have a sandwich griller, you can toast the slices in a non-stick pan.

Take a bread slice and spread 1 tbsp of tomato ketchup on it evenly. Spread the prepared filling on the slice and place slices of cucumber and onions.

Top with another bread slice and spread the filling on it. Also, add sliced tomatoes and cabbage on top.

Take the third bread slice, spread the ketchup and mayonnaise on it, and cover the sandwich with this slice.

Cut the sandwich in the shape you like, diagonally or horizontally. Serve the sandwich and enjoy.
