Betty Crocker Cherry Chip Cake Mix Recipes

Ingredients

1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

1 box Betty Crocker Super Moist white cake mix

¾ cup water

½ cup sour cream

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon almond extract

4 egg whites

2 jars (10 oz each) maraschino cherries, well drained and chopped (1 cup)

1 container Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy cherry frosting

How to make cherry chip cake

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a 13×9 inch pan, grease bottom only and lightly flour.

Coat chocolate chips with 1 teaspoon of cake mix and set aside. In a large bowl, mix the remaining cake mix with water, oil, sour cream, almond extract and egg whites with electric mixer on a low speed for 30 seconds then increase the speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.

Drain the cherries from jar onto the paper towels and dry. Then stir chocolate chips and cherries in cake mixture. Pour the mixture into pan.

Bake for 30 to 37 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and let it cool for few minutes. Remove from pan. Let it cool completely for about 1 hour. Spread frosting on top of the cake and serve.
