  • 450 grams chicken thigh
  • 3-4 dark green chilies
  • 18-20 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 1/2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 2 medium-sized capsicum
  • 4-6 light green chilies
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 3 tbsp oil

Steps to make Hyderabadi Chilli Chicken

  1. First of all, you have to wash and drain the chicken and also cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces so that it will be perfect for your chicken gravy.
  2. Now to make the paste for marinating the chicken we have to blend all the marinade ingredients.
  3. So for this purpose mix the lime, turmeric, salt, cornflour, ginger, and vinegar. After making this paste pour it over the bite-sized chicken pieces and leave the marinated chicken for 15 minutes.
  4. Then in a pan, heat oil. Add the marinated chicken to this oil and saute it. Let it simmer until well cooked.
  5. Then throw in the capsicums after chopping them.
  6. Fry this capsicum along with the chicken.
  7. After frying for 5-8 minutes at low flame, open the lid of the pot and add the rest of the spices.
  8. Squeeze some soya sauce along with vinegar in the capsicum mixture.
  9. Stir well and then throw in the green chilies. To make a slurry, mix cornflour with water.
  10. Pour this slurry in your chicken and wait until your gravy is a little thick and glossy.
  11. In the end, shower the chopped coriander leaves at the top and serve.
