Japanese Fruit Pie Recipe

Making desserts like cakes and pies is my favorite activity in the Kitchen. The process is itself full of sweetness and satisfaction. Out of all the desserts I have ever tried to date, Japanese Fruit Pie was the one I immediately had fallen for.

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large sized eggs
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped
  • 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 9-inch pie crust unbaked
  • 1/2 cup salted or unsalted butter, at room temperature

Method to make Japanese Fruit Pie Recipe

  1. In a small-sized bowl, put all the raisins. Fill the raisin bowl with hot boiling water so that all the raisins are dipped in this water.
  2. Keep the raisins dipped in the water for 10-15 minutes.
  3. The oven is getting preheated at a suitable temperature of 350 degrees.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter using a mixer and also mix sugar with it. You can either use the hand mix or the electric blender.
  5. Once done, break the eggs into the mixture. And beat well. Eggs should be properly blended and incorporated in a good manner with the rest of the mixture.
  6. Then it’s time to add the remaining ingredients. Pour some vanilla and chopped pecans into it. Stir to combine.
  7. I think we are done with all the ingredients. Oh, wait. Please don’t forget to add the shredded coconut.
  8. Top your mixture with this shredded coconut and then pour the mixture into the unbaked ready-made pie crust.
  9. Put the stuffed fruit pie crust into the preheated oven and start baking. The baking period will be about 40 minutes.
  10. Once baking is done, take out, let the fruit pie cool down and then refrigerate before serving for a few hours so that it will settle and develop the final taste.

If you haven’t baked the fruit pie properly to its required time it will end up being runny. Moreover, any thickening agent you have added to the mixture will take time to settle and give results.
