Pioneer Woman’s Crock Pot Roast | Easy Recipe

Very soft and light roast in a crock pot. A second course that is easy to prepare, tasty, savory, very easy and that is prepared in a short time even if you may think otherwise. Today I got tired of the usual and banal grilled slice I decided to prepare the roast in the pot.

Not because the oven is not good but turn on the oven, wait for it to heat up, cook the roast etc … in short, I didn’t have enough time. So I assure you it is very fast. Let’s try?

Please note that this recipe is inspired by Pioneer Woman’s crockpot roast recipe with little variations.

Ingredients

800 g of veal

2 glass of broth or water

3 sprigs Rosemary

half a carrot

1 onion

1 clove Garlic

Extra virgin olive oil

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

Which piece to choose

There are many different cuts for roasting. I always prefer to take veal instead of beef, it cooks faster and stays softer.

The best cuts for roasting in a pot are walnut, underside.

It is not necessary to tie it.

How to prepare it

Put the whole piece of meat on a cutting board, oil it well and add some chopped rosemary.

Massage the meat for a few minutes.

Put three or four tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a saucepan and fry the grated carrot and onion and the garlic cloves cut in half.

Then cook when the oil is hot and cook the meat on all sides and over high heat so as to brown it well for about ten minutes.

Then put the meat in pot, add half of broth or water, add salt and pepper, lower the heat to low, cover with the lid and continue cooking for about 30 minutes, continuing to pour the broth or water.

When the roast in the pot is completely cooked, remove it from the heat, wait a few minutes and then cut it into slices.

Taste the sauce obtained in a colander and serve it together with the roast in the pot.

Variants

If you want to reduce the gravy of the roast a little over the heat.

You can add all the aromas you prefer.

Do not overcook the roast otherwise it will become hard.

Roast veal should not be served rare.

Storage

The pot roast keeps well for two or three days. To heat it, bring his to a high temperature and heat the slices in the hot sauce.
