The frosting cream is delicious made with spreadable cheese, such as ricotta, philadelphia or mascarpone. It is ideal for decorating cupcakes, muffins, sweets and cakes as an excellent substitute for buttercream. It can be colored with powder dyes, in order to make the decorations more fun and original. We can also flavor it with strawberry, lemon, almond, orange or vanilla essence. It’s a quick and easy recipe to prepare much simpler than you might think.
Please note that this recipe is inspired by Pioneer Woman’s best frosting cream recipe with little variations.
Ingredients for the frosting cream
- 200 g fresh spreadable cheese
- 100 g fresh liquid cream
- 70 g sugar
Instruments
- Electric Whisk
- Natural dyes
Preparation of the frosting cream
In a bowl with an electric whisk, I whip the cream, I recommend the cream must be very cold so at least for a day let’s keep it in the fridge in the cooler section.
In another bowl, whip the sugar with the fresh cream cheese. Then I combine the two doughs and mix them well.
Finally, I divide the dough into different bowls, as many as the colors we want to create.
Well, our frosting cream is ready now I proceed with the pastry bag to decorate the cupcakes or our cake.
Storage of the frosting cream
The cream can be stored for up to 2 days in the refrigerator. We can color it as we like, I recommend using high-quality dyes.
