Preparing peanut butter chocolates at home is very simple: for the filling you will need a soft base, which can be made up of sponge cake, or any soft cake or donut, or even as snacks such as plumcake … the important thing is that it is a base with a neutral taste, to bring out the flavor of peanut butter with which, once crumbled, it will be mixed. For the decoration of peanut butter chocolates you can indulge yourself with colored sprinkles, sugar or peanut grains, with which to completely cover the peanut butter chocolates; if you want a more practical solution, you can arrange a piece of peanut on each chocolate.

Ingredients

100 g sponge cake (or other soft cake)

100 g Peanut butter

130 g Dark chocolate

1 pinch Salt

Peanuts (to decorate)

Preparation

To prepare peanut butter chocolates, start by putting the base in a bowl. Crumble the sponge cake with your hands and add a pinch of salt. Add the peanut butter.

Mix everything well with a spoon until you get a combined mixture. Form small enough balls with your hands (about 10 g each) which will be the basis of your peanut butter chocolates. Place them on a tray lined with baking paper and press them lightly to flatten the base. Let them rest in the freezer just long enough to melt the chocolate.

Chop the dark chocolate with a knife and melt it in a double boiler or in the microwave. With the help of a fork, dip each ball into the chocolate, covering it completely.

Drain the excess chocolate and place the peanut butter chocolates on the tray lined with baking paper. Before the chocolate solidifies, place a piece of peanut on the top of each chocolate. Once all the peanut butter chocolates have been covered, place them in the refrigerator for at least an hour or until ready to serve.

Serve the peanut butter chocolates after a meal or as a sweet snack throughout the day.
