Recipe for Leftover Fried Chicken with Rice

The delicious fried chicken and rice recipe is simple to make with leftover chicken and rice. It is an effective way of making use of your leftover food instead of throwing it in the trash. It is cheap, simple, and takes just 15 minutes to ready.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups diced leftover fried chicken
  • 4 cups leftover cooked white rice
  • 1 teaspoon light olive oil
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 4 green onions, sliced (green parts only)
  • Kosher salt
  • 5 tablespoon low-sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
  • A couple dashes Worcestershire sauce

How to use leftover fried chicken

Turn on the stove on medium heat and add olive oil to a large pan or a wok on it.

Add onions to oil and a pinch of kosher salt. Mix well and cook until onions are soft, stirring often.

Now, increase the stove flame to medium-high heat. Add rice, hot sauce, tamari, and Worcestershire sauce.

Add the leftover fried chicken and toss to combine everything well.

Spread evenly into the pan and let them cook for 30 to 60 seconds. Toss 2-3 times.

Taste the seasoning and add more hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce if you desire.

Serve the leftover fried chicken and rice with sliced green onions. Enjoy!
