Recipe for Leftover Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups diced leftover fried chicken
  • 4 cups leftover cooked white rice
  • 1 teaspoon light olive oil
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 4 green onions, sliced (green parts only)
  • Kosher salt
  • 5 tablespoon low-sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Frank's Red Hot Sauce
  • A couple dashes Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Turn on the stove on medium heat and add olive oil to a large pan or a wok on it.
  • Add onions to oil and a pinch of kosher salt. Mix well and cook until onions are soft, stirring often.
  • Now, increase the stove flame to medium-high heat. Add rice, hot sauce, tamari, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add the leftover fried chicken and toss to combine everything well.
  • Spread evenly into the pan and let them cook for 30 to 60 seconds. Toss 2-3 times.
  • Taste the seasoning and add more hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce if you desire.
  • Serve the leftover fried chicken and rice with sliced green onions. Enjoy!
