Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

Texas Sheet Cake is a delicious chocolate cake that is packed with the chocolate dressing poured over your cake. The chocolate included in the cake is all cocoa powder and is melted to make the chocolate syrup for drizzling.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

For dressing

  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 tablespoon milk
  • 3 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Method to make the Texas Sheet Cake

  1. Take a small-sized saucepan and add cocoa powder to it. Pour a little water. Mix and cook until it is boiled.
  2. While cooking this mixture, in another container combine the baking soda with the flour. In this dry mixture add some salt.
  3. Then pour the sour cream into a deep dish and then break eggs into the cream and blend both of them using the beater.
  4. Pour a little vanilla into it and blend more.
  5. Once you are done making the mixtures, pour the sour cream mixture into the flour and baking soda mixture. Stir both of them well.
  6. When the cocoa mixture is done boiling in the saucepan, turn the heat off and then mix it with the prepared batter.
  7. When well merged take your prepared baking pan out of the oven and transfer the mixture to this baking pan.
  8. Start baking your ca,e, and continue to do so for 20 minutes. While the cake is getting baked, get your dressing prepared.

To make the frosting

  1. In the same saucepan pour some milk and mix cocoa powder with the milk. After the complete melting of the cocoa powder, mix butter with it.
  2. Add the powdered sugar to your cooking mixture. Beat well while cooking.
  3. Take your cake out of the oven and get it drizzled with the frosting.
  4. Let stand for 10-12 minutes and then Serve.
