Apple Crumb Pie by Pioneer Woman

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Pie Crust
  • 6 cup Peeled and Sliced Granny Smith Apples
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 1/2 jar caramel topping

Instructions

  • Peel and slice apples and put them in a bowl. Add lemon juice, sugar, flour and ¼ teaspoon salt, mix well and set aside.
  • For crumb topping, cut butter with a pastry cutter and mix with½ cup flour, add brown sugar, oats and salt.
  • Prepare pie shell and add apples to it. Add crumb topping on the top.
  • Cover it with an aluminum foil and bake it for 25 minutes in a 375 degree preheated oven. Then remove foil from crust and bake for another 30 minutes.
  • Cut pecans into small pieces. Before 5 minutes remaining, sprinkle pecans on the top. Then remove the pie from oven.
  • Pour over ½ jar of caramel topping and let it cool. You can serve it immediately if you can’t wait. Enjoy!
