Barefoot Contessa Pasta Fagioli Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 8 oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 3/4 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried Marjoram
  • 1 15 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped Yellow Onion
  • 1 cup diced Carrots
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 14.4 oz cans of chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried basil
  • Freshly shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 1 can dark red kidney beans
  • 1 15 oz can of great northern beans
  • Salt and freshly grounded black pepper
  • 1 cup dry ditalini pasta

Instructions

  • Put a large-sized pot on the stovetop and heat olive oil in it. Add the beef to the heating oil and stir-fry it.
  • Put the beef on a side plate and also dispose of the fats from the pan.
  • Add more oil to the pan and then you have to add vegetables into the pan.
  • Bring the diced vegetables including the celery, carrots, and then onions, and add to the pot. Stir fry the veggies.
  • Pour the chicken broth into the pot and also add tomato sauce into it. Pour some water.
  • Bring the canned tomatoes and add them to the cooking mixture. Sprinkle sugar and basil followed by the sprinkling of thyme and oregano.
  • Add marjoram at the end and also add the cooked beef to the pot. Add the seasonings.
  • Boil the mixture and then let it simmer for 10-20 minutes.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Bring the cooked pasta and add it to the cooked soup. Add some beans and stir.
  • Simmer a little more, sprinkle a lot of cheese and parsley, and then serve the dish.
