Chef Boyardee Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3-1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 ounce active dry yeast
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1-1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 medium green pepper, diced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Dissolve sugar and yeast in water. Let it rest for 5 minutes. Then add oil, salt, and flour 1 cup at a time. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  • Flour the surface; knead the dough until smooth. Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  • Meanwhile, heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet and sauté onion for 2 minutes. Add beef and cook until it changes its color.
  • Take the dough out of bowl and divide it into two equal halves. Place and press each half in a 12 inch baking pan.
  • Now, combine tomato sauce, basil, and oregano. Spread overthe dough. Spread beef, green pepper, and cheese over the top.
  • Bake until the cheese has melted and crust is lightly golden brown (for 25 to 30 minutes). The pizza is ready!
