Chinese Tea Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • Red food color
  • 1 medium-sized egg
  • 3 cups flour all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • Cream shortening and sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups shortening

Instructions

  • Take a glass bowl and clean it with a piece of cloth. Sift flour into this bowl. Then combine this flour with baking soda. Sprinkle salt into this mixture.
  • Put the bowl to a side.
  • Then in another bowl, break the eggs and beat them. Once the beaten egg is settled, pour the almond extract into it.
  • In this egg mixture, you must add the shortening and sugar. In this mixture, put the dried flour mixture.
  • Give a good mix to the doughy mixture and then make balls out of this dough by rolling it. Flat them and give them a cookie-like shape.
  • Make a bent in the center and give a pop of food color to it.
  • Arrange the cookies in the baking pan and start baking for 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees of temperature.
  • After baking, get them out of the oven and let cool until they are settled. Put them all in the air-tight container and serve when needed.
