Eggless milk bread recipe Indian

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour (maida)
  • 2 tbsp Milk powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ cup+2 tbsp Milk (warm)
  • 3 tbsp Castor sugar
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • Some maida for dusting

To proof yeast:

  • 1 1/2 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup Warm water
  • 1 tsp Sugar

Instructions

  • Combine yeast and sugar in a bowl. Add warm water, stir once and leave the bowl covered in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.
  • In a bowl, combine maida, milk powder, castor sugar, and salt. Mix well and add yeast mixture. Stir using a spoon then add warm milk a little at a time.
  • Mix with your hands to form a sticky dough then add butter and mix until well incorporated.
  • Dust some maida to a work area and knead the dough for at least 10-15 minutes until smooth dough forms.
  • Place the dough in a well-greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and leave it for 1-2 hours until the dough rises.
  • Place the dough on a work surface to stretch and pull for 5minutes until smooth. Flatten the dough with a rolling pin and place it in a greased loaf pan. Leave it for 40 minutes until the dough rises.
  • Smear some butter or milk on the risen dough. Place the pan in the preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake for 40 minutes until done.
  • The milk bread is ready. Slice and serve.
