First of all, you have to treat your oven. So, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Moreover, lubricate the cake pans with butter or oil and also flour them.
Take a large-sized bowl and beat butter with sugar in it using an electric beater. You can also you a hand blender but the electric beater makes the combining easy for you.
In the next step add the lime zest in and beat until you attain a creamy mixture.
One by one break and add the eggs to this beaten mixture. Also, beat in the fresh lime juice.
Take another medium-sized bowl and combine the baking soda with the cake flour. Now add the buttermilk, and the flour mixture in the beaten egg and butter mixture gradually while making folds.
Then pour this mixture smoothly into the greased cake pans. Bake your cake mixture for 20-25 minutes.
You can check if the cake is baked by inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake. After baking let it settle and cook for 10 minutes.
