Ingredients

For large (1 1/2 to2-pound) machine

  • 3 3/4 cups (447g) King Arthur All-Purpose Flour (Unbleached)
  • 1/3 cup lukewarm milk
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tbsp. (43g) butter
  • 3 tbsp. (35g) sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. instant yeast or active dry yeast

For small (1-pound)machine

  • 2 1/2 cups (298g) King Arthur All-Purpose Flour (Unbleached)
  • 5 tsp. sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup lukewarm water
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm milk
  • 2 tsp. (28g) butter
  • 1 tsp. instant yeast or active dry yeast

Instructions

  • Put all the ingredients into your machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Set the machine for basic bread and press start baking. The machine will start baking the bread.
  • Once the loaf is done, remove the bread pan from machine and let it cool for 5 minutes. Gently shake the pan and remove bread from pan. Place it onto the cooling rack.
  • You can store it well-wrapped for 4 days or freeze it for up to 3 months in the freezer.
