Lemon Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter

For Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Bring the baking pan, use a cooking spray to grease it, and then put parchment paper into it.
  • Your oven is needed to be preheated and the temperature for this preheating should be 350 degrees.
  • Take a medium-sized bowl and add flour to this bowl. Make sure the bowl is clean and dried.
  • Combine the baking soda with the flour and add a pinch of salt. Stir using a spoon.
  • Add the melted butter to a medium-sized bowl and then beat it well using the electric beater. Your butter will get smooth and fluffy in a few minutes.
  • Add the lemon zest and pour the lemon juice into it.  Then break the eggs one by one into the mixture and start beating. Beat well to get everything well incorporated.
  • Combine the butter and egg batter with the flour and baking soda mixture. Again blend properly.
  • Pour a little milk into it. Transfer the mixture to your baking pan and start baking/. Continue baking for an hour.
  • Put on the cooling rack for 12 minutes and then set aside.

For making the Glaze

  • To make a pretty good dressing for your cake, add sugar to a bowl and which it with lemon juice.
  • Pour milk into it and blend. You need a smooth mixture.
  • Pour the glaze over the cake sponge and your Cake is ready to serve.
