Paula Deen Egg Custard Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • Freshly grounded cinnamon
  • 6 large-sized eggs
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 4-5 thin slices of crust removed from white bread
  • Freshly grounded nutmeg

Instructions

  • Bring the bread slices and use butter to coat them well. Bring the baking pan out of your preheated oven and spray using the cooking spray.
  • Put together the bread pieces in your prepared baking pan.
  • Then take a saucepan and pour the milk into this pan. Boil up the milk and when it gets a good boil, lower the heat.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, add the eggs and beat them until the eggs are turned fluffy. Add some sugar to the blended eggs and stir to dissolve the sugar.
  • Pour some vanilla into the mixture and get it merged into it. Now that your mixture is prepared, pour it into the boiled milk.
  • Continue whisking the mixture while pouring this mixture into it.
  • Bring your freshly grounded cinnamon and nutmeg. After transferring the milk and egg mixture into the prepared baking pan, over the buttered bread slices.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon and nutmeg over it.
  • Now that you know your oven is already preheated, start baking your casserole in this oven. Continue baking for more than half an hour.
  • Once baked, serve your bakes custard while refrigerated.
