Shari's Stuffed Hash Browns Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 package 20 ounces refrigerated hash brown potatoes
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon pepper
  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pepper jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon or chicken
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced

Instructions

  • To begin the making of these hash browns bring all the utensils and ingredients that you need in between the process.
  • Then mix the potatoes with the chopped onions and add taste to the combination by adding salt followed by pepper.
  • Use your regular frying pan or deep frying skillet and heat a few tablespoons of oil in it while keeping the flame low on the stovetop.
  • Fry the potato mixture of quantity at least one cup and press it in the bottom of the skillet using the frying spoon or spatula.
  • Cook for 5-6 minutes until the bottom layer of the potato mixture is slightly golden browned.
  • Add a splash of oil and flip to cook the flattened mixture from another side.
  • Do not stir the mixture while cooking any of the two sides. Then to make the addition of cheese and meat first sprinkle the shredded cheese and then add the cooked and crumbles meat either chicken or bacon as per choice.
  • Make this addition almost at the end of the cooking process.
  • After folding the hash browns in half, arrange them on the plate and make sure they are kept warm.
  • Once you have utilized all the ingredients, top these hash browns with sour cream and sprinkle chopped green onion before serving.
