Take a large-sized bowl and add flour to this bowl. Mix the sugar with this flour with the spatula or hand whisk.
Add the shortening after making crumbs out of it. On a separate plate as you have already beaten an egg, pour milk into this beaten egg and whisk well.
Put it in the refrigerator for a few hours while covered.
Then take another bowl and you have to add the other ingredients to prepare the filling for your potato jacks.
Combine one cup of sugar with a beaten egg and pour vanilla extract into it.
Bring the melted butter and add to it. Add the all-purpose flour and then stir everything well.
Make circles out of this dough and then bring the filling to stuff each circle with it. Then fold this circle in a half.
The potato jacks are filled this way.
Then bake these jacks in the preheated oven at a temperature of 375 degrees. You can also use an electric skillet for this purpose at the same temperature.
Once cooked, your potato jacks are ready to serve.
